Fact Sheet of the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa

Location Phuket is an idyllic and exotic destination, popularly known as the “Pearl of the Andaman Sea”.

JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa is located in 11 hectares (27 acres) of lush tropical gardens with swimming pools, freshwater ponds and natural preserved coastal wetlands overlooking the beautiful Mai Khao Beach. Just 15 minutes north of the Phuket International Airport, the resort enjoys 17 kms (10 miles) of natural beachfront and is adjacent to the Sirinat Marine National Park and sea turtle nesting area.

Accommodation JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa comprises 265 rooms of which 13 are suites. All rooms are ocean facing with stunning views of the lush tropical gardens and pools. The majority of rooms have a full or partial view of the Andaman Sea. Rooms are spacious and elegant with a minimum of 47 square metres (508 square feet) luxurious living space. Each room features a balcony and indoor ‘sala’ (a traditional Thai-style raised area) with twin massage mats and colourful triangular cushions – ideal for reading or relaxing. Polished wooden floors and rich silk fabrics from Jim Thompson further enhance the Thai ambiance. All rooms have a balcony, with one third of rooms located on the ground floor having an additional 16 square metres (173 square feet) of private landscaped terrace. Well appointed bathrooms feature an oversize soaking tub and separate shower. Attractive wooden louvered partitions can be opened for the view through to the guest room and outdoors which can be closed if preferred. Accommodations are available with one king-size bed or two double beds. Interconnecting rooms are available and three rooms are adapted for wheelchair access. Twelve luxurious one bedroom suites have commanding views of the Amdaman Sea. Each suite measures 98 square metres (1,058 square feet. Eight suites have the option of an additional interconnecting room. The one bedroom suites have a balcony measuring a minimum of 71 square metres (767 square feet).T he Royal Suite comprises three connecting villas and is located in a private area overlooking the Andaman Sea. The suite measures 340 square metres (3,672 square feet) and has an additional 305 square metres (3,294 square feet) of space which includes an 18 metre private swimming pool and a Jacuzzi and deck area.

Banqueting Facilities dining for up to 300 guests, banquet seating in the ballroom for 450 and classroom style meetings for up to 400 guests. The ballroom is divisible into five smaller rooms with a ceiling height of 5.2 metres (17.1 feet) at the center of the main section, to 4.2 metres (13.8 feet) at the perimeter.Two additional meeting rooms, both of which are divisible, are adjacent to the ballroom, plus a boardroom permanently configured for up to 12 people.

Mandara Spa Extensive spa treatment facilities will be operated by Mandara Spa, southeast Asia’s largest operator of tropical garden spas. A complete range of traditional and western spa treatments will be available with special emphasis on Thai-style massage and beauty processes. These treatments include a variety of massage styles, mud body-wraps, herbal wraps and facials, salt scrubs, seaweed wraps, aromatherapy, reflexology and a selection of luxurious fresh water baths.

Treatments will be available for individual guests or couples.

The 750 square metre (8100 square feet) spa complex with include five private double treatment suites, offering air-conditioned comfort and featuring traditional Thai décor. The treatment suites open onto a private tropical garden and feature outdoor showers, plunge pools and traditional Thai ‘salas’ (pavilion) for treatments or relaxing.

The spa also includes a hair salon.

Sports and Recreation Recreation facilities at the resort include a range of water sports and two lighted tennis courts.

Fitness Centre – a fully equipped fitness centre with state-of-the art Life Fitness equipment, together with highly trained staff enables guests to continue their fitness regime while away from home – or start one!

Golf - Ten minutes drive from the resort, the internationally recognised Blue Canyon Country Club features 36 holes of championship golf. Asia Golf Monthly Magazine chose Phuket as the “Best Golf Destination in Asia” for 2001 and the Canyon Course at Blue Canyon Country Club as the “Best Golf Course in Asia”.

Extensive childrens’ programs will be available with separate areas for young teens and smaller children. These include both indoor air-conditioned and outdoor play areas within easy access to the large childrens’ pool.

Three unique lagoon style swimming pools will be featured throughout the resort. The main pool meanders over 170 meters and includes a childrens’ pool, a water slide, a whirlpool and a lap pool. Fountains and water features are also highlighted throughout the pool area.


Restaurants & Bars An exciting choice of restaurants offers an extensive variety of cuisines to suit everyone’s tastes.

Cucina – an upbeat authentic Italian restaurant with great food, comfortable yet relaxed dining and fun, entertaining service. Authentic northern Italian fare and traditional favourites are created from the freshest ingredients, artfully presented and full of flavour. Served in a rustic setting featuring an open kitchen, Cucina is adorned with unique old world artifacts. Open daily from 5:00pm for dinner with a seating capacity for 77 people.

Sala Rim Talay, Seafood Market – literally translates to ‘house by the water’. This versatile restaurant has dramatic views over Mai Khao Beach and the Andaman Sea. Open daily from 11:00am for light lunches, guests can dine in the restaurant or remain poolside as they prefer. The lunch menus consists of ‘pool-friendly’ easy to handle items such as burgers, sandwiches, salads and light grilled dishes.

In the evenings Sala Rim Talay transforms to vibrant upscale seafood market where guests can choose from an abundant array of fresh, succulent seafood, caught locally. The oceans around Phuket offer a bounty of seasonal lobsters, soft-shell crabs, prawns, oysters and many varieties of fish. Dishes are prepared simply using traditional Thai and south-east Asian methods.

Guests have a chance to interact with their server and chef as they wander through the marketplace to choose their menu items and accompanying wines. The open kitchen enables diners to watch the cooking process while rich aromas fill the air, further tempting the taste buds. Seating capacity is for 62 people.

Marriott Café – overlooking the beach and stunning resort landscape, this casual restaurant blends flavors of the east and west which are blended to offer a unique dining experience. The menu provide fresh, bold flavours with exquisite presentations from only the finest and freshest ingredients. Service is efficient and friendly, displaying the traditional hospitality for which Thailand is famous.

Sumptuous buffets are served for breakfast and dinner in addition to an all day a la carte menu. Open daily from 6:30am with a seating capacity of 137 people.

Kabuki Sushi Bar – Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese theatre founded in the early 17th century. Sophisticated and highly stylized, it features dramatic costumes and masks. At Kabuki Sushi Bar we serve our guests with the same attentive spirit and enthusiasm which inspired the ancient Kabuki actors.

Located in the gallery overlooking the reflection pool, Kabuki is an open air sushi bar. Guests will see our Master Sushi Chef preparing his specialties as they walk throughout the lobby area. Stylized textured glass and celadon sushi platters highlight artistically presented cuisine. Open daily from 5:00pm with seating capacity for 36 people; eight at the Sushi counter and nearby table seating for an additional 28.


Siam Deli – offering café-style dining with an extensive menu of made-to order gourmet sandwiches, salads, cakes, pastries, ice cream, desserts and delicious specialty coffees and beverages.


A range of aromatic breads are freshly baked daily with a blackboard posting the next batch to be out of the oven. A delicious range of home-made delicacies will also be available to eat in or ‘to go’.



Open daily from 7:00am with indoor seating for 30 and additional covered seating alongside the shopping arcade for 16.


Sala Sawasdee Lobby Bar – located in the open air lobby overlooking the reflection pool and “island bar’ guests can enjoy a fabulous range of exotic concoctions prepared by our world-class bartenders.


Friendly servers offer a selection of unique “Asian Tapas” which can be enjoyed to the sound of traditional Thai background music.

Late in the evening the ambiance changes and guests can dance the night away to the sounds of live Jazz, simply relax in oversized chairs with after dinner drinks, cigars and exotic cocktails. Open daily from 10:30am the Lobby Bar seats 51, including 12 seats at the bar.

Rim Nam Pool Bar – perfect for poolside cocktails and a range of delicious snacks served in a relaxed tropical setting. Open daily from 10:00am.

In Room Dining – available 24 hours daily with a wide selection of menu choices. Guests can enjoy a meal in the privacy of their room, or enjoy the romantic outdoor terrace or balcony.

Special menus have been created for jet lag recovery to induce relaxation or energy boosting after a long flight, depending on time of arrival. And not forgotten is a special snack menu to watch during the movies!

Spa Cuisine – a range of light, health spa-inspired cuisine menu items will be available in each restaurant.
