ICCA ANNUAL CONGRESS EXHIBITION TO GROW BY TEN PERCENT

Travel News Asia Date: 16 August 2001

Reed Travel Exhibitions - organisers of the specialist exhibition taking place in association with the annual ICCA Congress in Cancun, Mexico between 4-7 November, is predicting a 10% increase in the number of exhibitors.

Debbie Jackson, Group MICE Director for Reed Travel Exhibitions said:" The response has been extremely encouraging from both past exhibitors and potential participants who see a great opportunity to meet professionals involved in the meetings and events industry.

"Current predictions are based on an extension of space likely to be taken by previous exhibitors. New exhibitors will mean the forecast will be exceeded."

US-based company, Hufcor Inc, who develop operable partitions, accordion doors and portable panels for meetings venues in 17 countries is hoping to repeat the success they enjoyed at the same event in 2000.

Regional director, Jeff L. Steinbach, Regional Director - International, said:" Exhibiting at the ICCA Assembly and Congress in Cancun supports Hufcor's goal of moving closer to our customers. This will give us an excellent opportunity to discuss convention and conference centre space division needs directly with end users from around the world.

"If last year's exhibition in Hong Kong is any indication, we are confident that this year's event will be very successful for Hufcor."

In 2000, more than 50 companies and organisations exhibited at the International Meetings Association event, offering an expansive programme of meetings -related activities.

Exhibitors, for example, could include destinations, dedicated meetings venues, hotels, universities, conference interpretation, international mailing, insurance, IT products, MICE trade events and publishers. The exhibition is open to ICCA members and non-members and runs throughout the General Assembly and Congress. The event starts with the General Assembly on Sunday as well as Closed Category and Chapter/Committtee meetings. The following three days includes a broad education programme addressing the industry's most relevant issues.

The exhibitor package includes profiling of the company or organisation on the ICCA Homepage (www.icca.nl/events/ga) with a hotlink to the exhibitor's own homepage.

Delegates will be able to ask for further information on an exhibitor and its services or products as well as schedule an appointment.
