MARRIOTT INTERNTIONAL APPOINTS ANGUS PITKETHLEY AS DIRECTOR OF SALES

M arriott International announced the appointment of Angus Pitkethley as Director of Sales, Sydney Worldwide Sales Office.

Mr. Pitkethley will be responsible for the Australian Wholesale Market and Marriott Incentive Awards in the Asia Pacific Region. Marriott Incentive Awards offers a range of Marriott products that are packaged and sold as vouchers. The products launched in Asia Pacific include Stay Awards, Dining Awards and Marriott Cash Cheques.

Mr. Pitkethley has over 10 years of hotel experience. He joined Marriott International’s London Worldwide Sales Office in 1998 as Agency Sales Manager, UK/Ireland. He previously worked with Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Sydney and at the Thistle Tower Hotel in London. In January 2001, he transferred to Australia to join the company’s Sydney Worldwide Sales Office.

Dominic Sherry, Vice President, Worldwide Sales Australasia said, “Marriott Incentive Awards has been operating in the US, UK, Europe and Middle East for the last five to seven years with great success. We think it is the right time to introduce this program to the Asia Pacific region where we see lots of opportunities. This serves as a reward for loyalty, as an individual incentive or as a ‘thank you’. With Angus’ extensive knowledge and solid skills in this field, he will be a great force in introducing this program into the Asia Pacific Region.”

Mr. Pitkethley holds an Associate Diploma in Hospitality Management from the William Blue Hotel Management School, Sydney.
