HERITAGE SITES' TIMINGS REVISED FOR RAMADAN

The Government of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) announced that the seven heritage sites under the supervision of the department, will remain open during the holy month of Ramadan, but the timings have been revised to facilitate visitors and residents.

Dubai Museum in Al Fahidi Fort, Sheikh Saeed's House in Shindagha. Majlis Ghorfat Um-Al Sheif in Jumeirah, Al Ahmadiya School and Heritage House in Deira and Hatta Heritage Village will all remain open from Saturday through Thursday between 9.00 AM and 5.00 PM. The six sites will also remain open on Friday from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.

The Heritage and Diving Village in Shindagha area will open between 9.00 AM and 2.00 PM and 7.00 PM and 12.00 PM Saturday through Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday the two sites will open in the evening between 7.00 PM and 12.00 PM.

"The changed timings will facilitate visitors to explore the sites during the month of Ramadan and will suit the itineraries of tour operators who frequently bring visitors to the sites," said DTCM Manager Heritage Sites and Events, Awadh Al Seghayer.

The UAE's Arabian culture presents a distinctive tourism product that is being developed and promoted to provide significant growth for the industry. The DTCM has provided strategic planning and marketing for the culture and heritage sites in Dubai, by employing an integrated approach to heritage development.

The DTCM is currently supervising the development, promotion and marketing of eight heritage and culture sites in Dubai.
