EL QUESTRO WILDERNESS PARK VOTED EQUAL 2ND TOURISM HOTSPOT IN THE WORLD FOR 2002

Travel News Asia Date: 14 November 2001

WA Tourism received a giant boost today with El Questro Wilderness Park, in the far north of WA, being voted equal second most unusual “Hot Spot for 2002” along with The London Eye.

Featuring the unusual Emma Gorge tented cabins, bungalows perched on the edge of the Pentecost River and the unique and luxurious Homestead, cantilevered over Chamberlain Gorge, the submission allowed only one hundred words to sum up WA’s most awarded tourist destination. The list of distinctively Australian adventures and activities available was itself 90 words, and the challenge thrown down to tourists was to make of it whatever they wanted.

“El Questro is thrilled to receive this vote of confidence from the Travel Industry, and as a safe destination for travel in 2002, we encourage travellers from all over the world to come and sample Australia’s inimitable hospitality at El Questro,” said El Questro owner Will Burrell, on hearing the news of the win.

World Travel Market, is one of the largest travel shows in the world, with a staggering 177 countries represented and trade visitors to the show in 2000 topping 26,000. A panel of judges have been searching for the countries, regions, destinations and attractions that are set to be hot in 2002 and beyond. The search, open to all those exhibiting at World Travel Market, was looking for the most luxurious, unusual, adventurous and best family value.

The new brochure for season 2002, which commences on April 1, 2002 is available now at travel agents.
