Six Senses Appoints New Area Spa Manager for South East Asia

Bangkok-based Six Senses Hotels and Resorts, the owner and operator of high-end individual luxury boutique resorts and city hotels in Asia, through its Soneva and Evason brands, has appointed Anna Keen as its new Area Spa Manager, South East Asia.

British-born Anna Keen, a seasoned spa professional, has been Spa Manager and Spa Director at some of the world’s leading spa resorts, including the world-famous Chiva- Som International Health Resort in Hua Hin, Thailand.

Anna was educated in the South of England and gained the internationally recognised CIBTAC and CIDESIC qualifications in Beauty Therapy. She began her career in Bristol but soon moved to London where she spent 5 years specialising in the set up and operations of health and beauty departments within top British health clubs.

Anna moved to Thailand in 1998 where she spent two years managing the spa at the Chiva-Som International Health Resort, during which time Chiva-Som was voted the 'Best Destination Spa in the World' by readers of Conde' Nast Traveller magazine in 1999. Anna joins Six Senses after spending the last year setting up an opening a high profile destination spa in Bangalore, India.

Skilled in all aspects of spa management and training, Anna has also undertaken a number of post-graduate courses in many aspects of holistic therapy and beauty therapy including courses in reflexology, blend electrolysis, Doyer Hydrotherapy, Eve Taylor Aromatherapy, and Perfector Face and Body.

Ms Keen will oversee the development of the Six Senses Spas within the group’s resort properties in South East Asia, including the group’s two brand new spa resorts in Thailand, The Evason Resort Hua Hin and The Evason Resort Phuket.

She will handpick the most professional staff to help spa guests 'discover their six senses' in the unique way that has become the hallmark of the Six Senses brand.

The Six Senses spa at The Soneva Fushi resort in the Maldives (owned & managed by Six Senses) was recently named as the '3rd Best Spa in the World' by the influential Gallivanter's guide which reviews the best Resorts and Hotels in the World, and was also voted “3rd best Spa in the World” by readers of Conde Nast Traveller.

Six Senses is a Hotel and Resort Management and Development Company established in 1995 which owns the award-winning Soneva Fushi Resort in the Maldives and manages hotels and resorts under the brand names Soneva, Evason and Pavilion.
