INDULGE IN SPA TREATMENTS AT PATA TRAVEL MART

Travel News Asia Date: 13 March 2001

Renewal Day Spa to serve up massages and foot reflexology

Spa and Wellness is the official Feature Product of the 2001 Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart, April 3-6, 2001 in Singapore, and a dedicated Spa Pavilion will give delegates the chance to experience relaxing spa treatments on site.

The treatments are sponsored by Renewal Day Spa, which is owned and operated by Spa Discoveries Pte. Ltd. One of the first in Singapore, Renewal Day Spa is a world-class facility that offers a variety of Asian and European treatments in authentic settings. At the pavilion, buyer and media delegates may sign up for free 15-minute sessions of the following treatments:

* Stress Release Massage: A relaxing back and shoulder massage, incorporating both Thai and Western techniques

* Tension Release Massage: A gentle pressure-point massage of the head and neck, using the Jin Shin Do technique from Japan

* Reflexology: A manipulative pressure-point technique based on the premise that reflex areas on the sole of the foot correspond to specific organs and locations within the body

In addition, all PATA Travel Mart delegates who visit Renewal Day Spa will receive a 20 percent discount on a la carte treatments and a 45 percent discount on two specially chosen packages for delegates.

"The Feature Product concept has generated a great deal of interest among both buyers and sellers," said Mr. Andrew Lee, Director of Sales & Marketing for Reed Travel Exhibitions. Of the registered delegates to date, 117 buyers offer health/spa holidays, and 45 seller companies offer health/spa products or access to such.

As part of the Feature Product initiative, spa operators and sellers with spa facilities will be given a unique visual branding at the PATA Travel Mart, to enable buyers to identify them easily. Spa and Wellness sellers are also encouraged to offer on-site massages and spa treatment samples to target buyers.

The 2001 PATA Travel Mart is expected to attract 350 buyers and 330 exhibiting companies, for a near-perfect buyer-seller ratio. To date, 86 new buyers have registered for the Mart.
