NEW DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL AND GLOBAL SALES

Chief Operating Officer of Bass Hotels & Resorts – Australia/New Zealand / South Pacific, Tony South has today announced the appointment of Geoffrey Webb as Director of National & Global Sales Australia.

In this newly created position, Mr Webb will oversee the selling of all Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza, Parkroyal, Holiday Inn and Centra Hotels & Resorts in Australia. He will also continue his Global Sales responsibilities to the Australian outbound market overseeing the selling of 3000 Bass Hotels & Resorts located in 100 countries around the world.

“Geoffrey Webb is well known in the industry after heading up Global Sales in Australia & New Zealand for Bass Hotels & Resorts for the past two years,” Mr South said. “During this time, he successfully integrated the Bass brands into Global sales after Inter.Continental Hotels & Resorts was purchased by Bass in early 1998,” he said. “Geoffrey brings 16 years hotel experience including hotel operations and food and beverage management.

“ Since Bass acquired the SPHC Group in April 2000, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to transfer his operational skills into the sales environment and communicate the different brand messages to our clients,” Mr South said.

Early in his career, Mr Webb spent 10 years working in hotel operations in Australia, Canada and the USA. When he returned to Australia he commenced his hotel sales career with Inter.Continental Hotels & Resorts where he remained for three years rising to International Sales Manager at the Hotel Inter-Continental Sydney. He was then appointed Director of Sales & Marketing for Forum the Grace Hotel, Sydney operated by Inter.Continental Hotels & Resorts.

In his new position, which is effective immediately, Mr Webb reports to Michael Meade, Director of Sales & Marketing for Bass Hotels & Resorts, Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific.
