MALAYSIA AIRLINES ENRICH PROGRAMME SIGNS MUTIARA HOTELS & RESORTS AS NEW BUSINESS PARTNER

Mutiara Hotels & Resorts today signed an agreement with Malaysia Airlines' Enrich Programme to signify business alliance and partnership in the national carrier's frequent flyer programme.

The new partnership will enable the airline's Enrich members earn points when staying in any of the six Mutiara properties in Malaysia effective from 01 July 2001. The six properties are located in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Burau Bay, Taman Negara and Pedu Lake.

Puan Zarita Noordin, Group General Manager of PERNAS Hotel Management Sdn Bhd and Encik Shamin Ahmad, Senior Vice President Marketing Services Malaysia Airlines, signed the agreement. Witnessing the signing ceremony were Mr Ch'ng Teik Cheng, Enrich Manager, Mr Jeffrey Gan, Marketing Consultant for Mutiara Hotels & Resorts and En Mohamed Halim Merican, Acting General
Manager of Mutiara Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking at the ceremony, Puan Zarita Noordin said, " Mutiara Hotels & Resorts are excited to be the latest business partner with Malaysia Airlines, our national carrier, to reward their frequent flyer members with Enrich award points. Mutiara places great importance to our brand proposition as the premier hotel and resort chain cultured by the warm and friendly Malaysian hospitality with international standards of accommodation and services. Through this valued recognition of rewarding Enrich members with award points, we hope to build loyalty to our Mutiara brand."

Since the launch of its new corporate brand two months ago, the partnership with Malaysia Airlines represents one of Mutiara's most significant initiatives to create greater awareness among Enrich members

Speaking on behalf of Malaysia Airlines, Encik Shamin Ahmad said, " Malaysia Airlines is continuously looking into upgrading its services and benefits to reward its frequent flyers. We are happy that Mutiara Hotels & Resorts has agreed to participate in the Enrich Programme. With that we are glad to announce that Enrich members have now the options to earn Enrich award points from more than 2,800 properties worldwide."

For an introductory period from 01 July - 31 August 2001, Enrich members will enjoy double Enrich points of 1,000 points per stay in Mutiara Kuala Lumpur.

Enrich is a Malaysia Airlines frequent flyer programme initiated since 01 February 1999. It has more than 210,000 members worldwide. There are two tiers of membership - Enrich Blue and Enrich Gold. Members earn award points whenever they travel on Malaysia Airlines international and domestic
flights in First, Golden Club and Economy class. Members also earn award points when they travel with Malaysia Airlines air partners Virgin Atlantic, Swissair, Northwest, KLM and Korean Air. In addition they also earn points from non-airline partners like hotels, charge/credit cards, car, telecommunications and MAS Golden Boutique.
