Airborne Animals Amble A's In China Southern Cargo Report Card; China Southern Airlines' Gains High Marks In Freight Forwarder Evaluation

Travel News Asia Date: 13 December 2001

China Southern Airlines (NYSE: ZNH) (HKSE: 1055), the largest airline in The People's Republic of China is pleased to report that it has recorded high marks in annual evaluations by international freight forwarders in Chicago and throughout the USA for its customer service on its Chicago/China all-cargo service.

Each year, key cargo accounts in the USA independently evaluate various aspects of cargo airlines - rating them in areas such as customer service and on-time delivery. Also critiqued is how cargo airlines handle extra large, heavy-duty imports into The United States of America or manage specialty export transports such as live animals for either breeding or processing.

Some of the largest freight forwarders in the USA participated in this year's informal cargo evaluations, including: Expiditors International; Danzas/AEI; Scanwell Air Freight; U-Freight; Schenker and Circle International.

"In 2000, we rated pretty high with our key freight forwarders but this year we garnered some of the highest scores for excellent customer service," said Wayne Chen, General Manager, Cargo.

"We take very good care of each freight forwarder's shipment, not just because they send us a steady flow of business but because we care our customer. Personal service and personal attention to detail is what business is all about with China Southern Airlines," added Chen.

China Southern Airlines' offers Boeing 747-400 cargo flights from Chicago to Shenzhen with a cargo stop in Shanghai, China each Wednesday, Friday or Sunday.

The return flight from Shenzhen to Chicago is a direct flight. Both inbound and outbound flights make technical refueling stops in Anchorage.

Additionally, East Coast USA shippers can drop off their freight at JFK International Airport with one-day service to either Shanghai or Shenzhen.
