Radisson SAS To Open First Central Paris Hotel

Travel News Asia Date: 12 November 2001

Former Louis Vuitton Headquarters Transformed into New Boutique Property

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, which operates eight Middle and Near East properties, has signed a management contract with Belgian real estate agent, ‘City Hotels’, for a new first-class property in the centre of Paris.

Formerly the headquarters of the internationally renowned designer Louis Vuitton, the Radisson SAS Hotel, Champs Elysées, is undergoing final construction and will open next February.

The 46-room hotel will combine historical heritage with contemporary atmosphere. On the Avenue Marceau, just off the Champs Elysées, the hotel is near the Arc de Triomphe and is designed with a typical “Hausmanian” façade – a Parisian style after the famous architect Hausmann who modernised the French capital during the last century.

Radisson SAS Hotel, Champs Elysées, will have a bistro-type restaurant named “Champs”, which can welcome up to 40 guests with seating outside in its courtyard garden. There will also be underground parking and a separate entrance to the restaurant from the street.

“For many years we have been looking for the right hotel in the centre of Paris and now we have found it,” said Kurt Ritter, President & CEO for Radisson SAS. “Our entry into the world’s most visited city strengthens our overall position in the French market. It also progresses our stated goal to manage a property in every European capital.”

Radisson SAS Hotels and Resorts operates three more French properties, in Cannes, Nice and Charles de Gaulle airport.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, currently includes 111 hotels in operation and 31 under development in 38 countries and is the sole franchisor in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa for Radisson Hotels & Resorts.

Radisson Hotels & Resorts and its parent company Carlson Hospitality Worldwide includes 723 hotel and resort locations representing 127,213 guest rooms in 62 countries plus five luxury cruise ships sailing worldwide
