Air New Zealand Increase Services in the Asia Region

Air New Zealand has increased its current services in the Asian region to meet the need for additional capacity by Asian travellers. Commencing this month, the additional return services will be operated between New Zealand and Japan, New Zealand and Hong Kong and New Zealand and Taiwan.

Air New Zealand Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution, Norm Thompson said the additional services marked the expansion of Air New Zealand in the Asian region.

"This is good news for travellers to New Zealand and the New Zealand tourism industry and signals Air New Zealand's continued commitment to the Asian region," said Mr Thompson.

Details of the increased services are as follows:

Japan

From the week commencing 29 October, services between Auckland and Osaka were increased from a six weekly to a daily service. The available capacity on weekend services has also increased with the use of a Boeing 747-400 aircraft (from a Boeing 767-300 aircraft).

Hong Kong

Commencing today, 12 November, services between Auckland and Hong Kong have increased from a five days weekly to a non-stop daily service using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

Taiwan

From 05 November, services between Auckland and Taipei were increased from two to three services per week using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

In addition, Air New Zealand is now operating an extra Boeing 747-400 service between Auckland and Los Angeles - an increase from ten to eleven flights to the United States weekly.
