New Website, New Features for Concorde Hotels & Resorts

Travel News Asia Date: 12 July 2001

The newly revamped Concorde Hotels & Resorts website has a host of new features to make online booking a lot easier and faster. These new features were added as a result of an online survey conducted last year during the planning stages for the revamp.

“We have taken into consideration that not everyone is Internet savvy. This website is designed to serve anyone, especially those with limited Internet knowledge or are new to placing online bookings,” said Mr. Edmund Nicholas, Vice-President for Marketing.

The hotel group is one of the first in Asia to provide instant confirmation of room reservations on the Internet. With this third revamp after 1997, the Internet customers’ needs are well addressed to ensure a better and more efficient online experience.

Some of the new features include “3-step Express Reservations”, Meetings @ Concorde”, “Events @ Concorde”, Weddings @ Concorde”, “Reservations On-Request”, and “Online Slide Library”. The website understands the objective of individual customers and thus aim to provide the simplest and fastest facility for them. For instance, one can complete a reservation within three mouse-clicks, or put their reservation on the waiting list should the hotel be fully booked during their period of travel.

Another unique facility of the website is the “Online Slide Library” which contains images of all the hotels which can be downloaded in JPEG or TIFF formats. This password protected sub-site serves business partners or the press whenever high-resolution hotel images are required. In this way, hotel images of the best quality can be downloaded for professional use without incurring time loss or postage costs. Better efficiency and effectiveness will be promoted through this new feature.

“We will continue to improve the website based on customers’ feedback and comments, and ensure that the website serves our customers at all levels,” Mr Nicholas added.

The website can be viewed in Japanese language and through the company’s marketing alliance with Sunroute hotel chain in Japan, the website provides a hyperlink to Sunroute’s website featuring 85 hotels.
