DUTCO HOTELS CORPORATE GOLF DAY A BIG HIT

Travel News Asia Date: 10 November 2001

Over Twenty Corporate VIPs Participate in 9-Hole Individual Event

The Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort hosted a successful Dutco Hotels Group Corporate Golf Day social event on the Resort Golf Course at the Club Joumana on the 5th of November.

Among the invitees for the fun 9-hole individual event were leading UAE corporate VIPs and dignitaries.

A magnificent round of 21 stableford points was good enough for Yorkshireman Eddie Handforth, a repeat VIP guest of the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort, member of the Al Safir Club, to take the top honours.

Competition for 2nd place was a much tighter affair with three players tying on 17 points. The scorecard count-back favoured the stronger finisher Eric Hodges who came in second, pushing Juho Halinen, Managing Director of Nokia Corporation into third place.

Winning Closest to the Hole Prizes on holes number 2 and 8 were HE Ambassador of Finland Risto Rekola and Seamus Connolly of Compaq, while Keith Prosser of Grey Worldwide emerged as hitter of the day winning the Longest Drive on the ninth hole.

The friendly competition was followed by an informal Prize Presentation on the lower terrace of Club Joumana hosted by David Thomson, Director of Sales & Marketing for Dutco Hotels, Anabela Radosevic, Assistant Director of Sales and Director of Golf James Williams. Representing the Oasis Beach Hotel were General Manager Martin Weber and Director of Sales & Marketing Omar Carrera.
