Holiday Inn on Flinders recruits new General Manager

Holiday Inn on Flinders in Melbourne, Australia, has appointed Julie Carlson as its new General Manager. Already positioned within the InterContinental Hotels Group, Ms Carlson leaves the position of General Manager, Holiday Inn Phi Phi Island, to take up the new appointment.

Ms Carlson has more than 27 years experience within the hospitality industry and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Hotel.

Ms Carlson comments, “My career has taken me all over the world, yet I am looking forward to living in the world’s most liveable city. Melbourne has so much to offer, not to mention its well known café culture, I am delighted to have been appointed to this position”. 

Ms Carlson joined the Hotel Industry in 1976, with postings in Brisbane, Surfers Paradise, Sydney, London and Pretoria and Natal in South Africa. She joined Intercontinental Hotels Group in 1990 and held positions at Brisbane’s Travelodge, Islandia Travelodge Phuket, Penang Park Royal and Crowne Plaza Christchuch NZ, before being appointed to her most recent position.

Recently refurbished, Holiday Inn on Flinders boasts 200 stylish and modern guest rooms. All feature large working desks, ergonomic chairs, dual-line speakerphones and integrated data ports, allowing simultaneous phone and Internet usage.
