Qatar Airways and Yemen Airways sign New Codeshare Agreement

Qatar Airways and Yemen’s national airline Yemen Airways have signed a bilateral codeshare agreement that will link the fast growing Qatar Airways route network with Yemen Airways’ network.

Qatar Airways’ Chief Executive Officer Mr. Akbar Al Baker and Yemen Airways’ Chairman Captain Abdulkhalek S. Alkadi signed the agreement that will allow Qatar Airways to carry Yemenia passengers on the Sanaa-Doha/Doha-Sanaa sectors and Yemen Airways will carry Qatar Airways passengers on the Sanaa-Aden-Doha/Doha-Aden-Sanaa sectors.

This bilateral codeshare agreement commenced October 31, 2004.

“This new codeshare agreement marks the start of an important and co-operative relationship between Qatar Airways and Yemen Airways,” said Mr. Al Baker.

“We look forward to a prosperous relationship with Yemen Airways and a relationship that is going to deliver additional value to the passengers of both airlines.

This is the second code share agreement that Qatar Airways signs with an Arab Airline, after successfully signing an agreement with Middle East Airlines in March 2004.

Qatar Airways continues to build a network of strategic alliances with other airlines including codeshare agreements with Malaysian Airlines, Philippines Airlines, Alitalia, Biman, Garuda Indonesia, Lufthansa, and Thai Airlines.

Qatar Airways flies four times per week to Sanaa. Flight QR454 leaves Doha at 13:00hrs on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Sanaa at 15:50hrs local time, and flight QR458 leaves Doha at 22:15hrs on Thursdays, arriving in Sanaa at 1:05hrs local time.

Return flight QR455 leaves Sanaa at 16:50hrs on Monday, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Doha at 19:20hrs local time, and flight QR459 leaves Sanaa on Fridays at 8:00hrs arriving in Doha at 10:30hrs local time.
