Shangri-La launches new toll-free reservations numbers

Travel News Asia 6 April 2004

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has launched new toll-free numbers and opened a new call centre in Kuala Lumpur to service Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, India, the Middle East and South African markets.

Commenting on the new toll-free numbers, Carmen Lam, Shangri-La's group  sales and marketing director, said: 'These newly introduced reservations numbers allow customers to make bookings and receive instant confirmation 24 hours a day at any of our 42 hotels in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Customers can now simply and easily make enquiries and book both Shangri-La and Traders hotels without incurring any long  distance call charges, helped by agents who speak a wide variety of languages.'

The Malaysian call centre is in addition to existing centres in Hong Kong, Tokyo and London. For those calling from mainland China there are now two reservations numbers for northern and southern China. Existing toll-free reservations numbers remain the same for Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Europe and North America.
