Garden Hotel Guangzhou joins SRS-WORLDHOTELS

Travel News Asia 6 January 2004

The 1000-room Garden Hotel Guangzhou joins SRS-WORLDHOTELS’ Deluxe Collection in January 2004.

“It is a major coup for us to have added this large, prestigious hotel to our portfolio, and takes us firmly forward in our drive towards further expansion in China ahead of other major hotel distribution companies,” said Roland Jegge, Vice President Asia/Pacific of SRS-WORLDHOTELS.

The hotel joins SRS-WORLDHOTELS’ portfolio at a time when European carrier Lufthansa Airlines is set to launch its new direct service to Guangzhou in February, and the state-of- the-art new Baiyun International Airport Guangzhou is scheduled to open in the summer.

“This is the perfect timing for The Garden Hotel to join us. Although we have an extremely well-developed global distribution network, SRS-WORLDHOTELS is based in Frankfurt and our core strength is delivering the European market to our international member hotels,“ said Jegge.

Conveniently located in the business district of Huanshi Dong, the commercial and financial hub of Guangzhou, with easy access to all major transportation, The Garden Hotel Guangzhou is only a short drive from Bai Yun International and Domestic Airport and a direct 3-hour bus service to Hong Kong departs from the hotel’s doorstep.

The hotel offers guests a grand entrance into its magnificent ornate Lobby, richly decorated with unique Chinese art works, and its 1,000 guest rooms and suites are luxuriously furnished and equipped with all the latest facilities including broadband internet connectivity.

At the top of the 30-storey hotel, the elegant Executive Floors are specially designed for the business traveller, and offer a higher level of personal service.

Executive Floor guests enjoy complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails in the exclusive Executive Floor Lounge, unlimited use of the hotel’s gym with sauna and steam bath, two hours complimentary use of the Executive Floor meeting room per day, and airport-hotel transfers in one of the hotel’s limousines - as well as a host of other benefits.

The Garden Hotel Guangzhou offers guests the choice of 11 wining and dining options. Guests can choose delicious seafood and spectacular city views from the top floor of the hotel at the revolving Carousel restaurant; gourmet Cantonese at The Peach Blossom; international dining and buffet at Greenery Coffee Shop; traditional Guangzhou specialities at the famous Lai Wan Market where guests can dine in a ‘sampan’; the ultimate in fine French dining and live entertainment at The Connoisseur; the city’s freshest Japanese at Furusato restaurant; or pizzas, pastas and other deliciously authentic Italian delights at La Casa. Guests can eat in or takeaway a wide selection of Western or Asian snacks at either The Delicatessen Corner or The Fast Food Center.

The Garden Hotel Guangzhou is a luxurious destination for relaxation too, with entertainment for the whole family. Recreational facilities include a Health Club with gym, sauna and massage, an outdoor swimming pool, two tennis courts and two indoor squash courts. A beauty salon and a shopping arcade that is home to many international brands are conveniently located within the hotel.
