Marriott opens its eighth Australian property

Marriott today opened its eighth Australian property, the Courtyard by Marriott North Ryde, located 12 kilometres from Sydneys central business district.

The hotels General Manager, Ms Louise Byrom said After more than a year of construction, planning and fitout, we put the finishing touches to the property last night, and at 7.00am today we opened our doors for business,

Our team of 65 management and staff members are now in their new roles, our sales activities are well underway and we are generating very encouraging forward bookings, with our first guests checking in today.

We are very excited about opening, very confident about the future and looking forward to welcoming guests, both corporate and leisure, plus meeting groups and restaurant and bar patrons.

The new hotel is Sydneys second and Australias third Courtyard by Marriott property the 4 - 4.5 star product in the Marriott accommodation range. The group also has five five-star properties two in Sydney and one each in Melbourne, Brisbane and Surfers Paradise.

The Courtyard by Marriott North Ryde is located at the corner of Lane Cove and Talavera Roads in the Macquarie Park commercial zone, home in Australia to major corporations including Microsoft, Sony, Johnson & Johnson, Compuware, Aventra, ACNielsen and Honeywell.

The new hotel offers 149 deluxe rooms, 22 of which have access to a balcony, plus 32 double rooms, eight loft suite rooms, and seven Garden Courtyard Rooms, each with a private courtyard. A total of eight rooms are wheelchair accessible.

Each room has been designed with business clients in mind, and features a work desk, broadband internet connectivity, STD/IDD telephone, voicemail in English and Japanese and a laptop-size safe.

All rooms also feature individually controlled air conditioning, remote-controlled colour TV with six Foxtel channels, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar, en-suite bathroom, hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.

The Courtyard by Marriott North Ryde also has a total of 232 square metres of meeting space, capable of hosting business or small private gatherings, and has named its eight meeting rooms after neighbouring suburbs Denistone, Melrose Park, Tennyson Point, Gladesville, Meadowbank, Eastwood, and Macquarie Park I and II.

The hotel participates in loyalty programmes including Marriott Rewards. Marriott Gold Card and Qantas Frequent Flyer.
