HPL Hotels & Resorts chooses Unirez to provide distribution to Global Distribution Services and the Internet

HPL Hotels & Resorts, a Singapore-based hospitality management company and a wholly owned subsidiary of main-board listed Hotel Properties Limited (HPL), has signed an agreement with Unirez by Pegasus, one of the world’s largest hotel representation companies, to take advantage of Unirez’s user friendly web-based applications and distribution technology for selected hotels. Unirez is a subsidiary of Pegasus Solutions, Inc.

With this new agreement, four of HPL hotels will be using Unirez as its Global Distribution Service (GDS) provider, with effect from today, 1st September 2004. These hotels are:

Australia – Concorde Hotel Gold Coast – 199 rooms and suites
Malaysia – Concorde Hotel Shah Alam – 381 rooms and suites 
Malaysia – Casa del Mar, Langkawi – 29 rooms and suites
Malaysia – The Lakehouse, Cameron Highlands – 18 rooms and suites

“Unirez offers proven technologies that meet the critical needs of individual hotels more cost effectively. Hotels are able to take full advantage of Unirez’s easy-to-use web based applications and integrated tools to manage multiple revenue channels by offering flexible and strategic set of rates covering all important market sectors through all distribution channels. In addition, hotels are also able to use these tools to market unique promotions, thus enabling and improving hotels’ responsiveness to market conditions, to ensure optimal yield for the hotels,” said Edmund Nicholas, Vice President - Marketing of HPL Hotels & Resorts.

Unirez also provides for real-time rates that are automatically distributed to the four major global distribution systems – Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan, and thousands of travel websites, giving travel agents and consumers immediate access to hotels’ rates and promotions.

Travel agents can book these HPL hotels in any major GDS by using the UZ code.
