Peninsula Hotels launch New Services for Meeting Planners

Travel News Asia 18 August 2004

The Peninsula Hotels have introduced a new range of services to help meeting planners organise events with greater speed and efficiency. In its properties worldwide, The Peninsula has launched a new dedicated Meetings website, created a single point of contact, the Meeting Consultant, and identified unique venues to rival the conventional meeting room.

Mr. Peter Borer, Chief Operating Officer of The Peninsula Hotels, says: “We appreciate the time-sensitive and exacting needs of meeting planners organising high level meetings. They want quick, responsive solutions. We’ve brought together our expertise and unparalleled venues with the speed of the Internet to create a seamless, efficient service.”

The new Peninsula Meetings website www.peninsula.com/meetings offers convenient planning tools designed with professional meeting planners in mind. In the comprehensive ‘Floor Plans’ section, meeting planners can view each function room in minute detail, from seating layouts down to the placement of power supply, telephone sockets and audio-visual facilities.

The ‘Meeting Room Finder’ enables planners to locate ideal venues for each event by simply entering key criteria. With as little as the number of participants and nature of the event, planners are able to view a list of suitable locations.

When planners fill out the online ‘Request for Proposal’ form, they are ensured a thorough response and full proposal within just one working day from an assigned Meeting Consultant who will work with them for the duration of the event.

A Meeting Consultant has been appointed in each property to create a “one-stop shop”. The Meeting Consultant, a carefully selected, seasoned professional, acts as a single point of contact, and will service the entire event from the initial planning stages through to the post-event phase. The Peninsula Meetings website also allows planners to “meet” their Meeting Consultant online and read about their extensive professional experience.
