Onity reports huge interest from Middle East Hotel Industry

Travel News Asia 16 June 2004

Onity, a global provider of electronic management solutions for hotels, has reported that its participation in the Hotel Show, held in Dubai last month, has led to negotiations with developers of over 20 separate hotel projects around the region.

Onity expects to close contracts for full package deals for projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar and Syria. The full package includes electronic locking systems, in-room safes and energy management solutions.

"The Middle East region is bursting with hotel projects and we received enormous interest during the show for several of our hotel tailored products; especially for integrated systems which provide the hotel with a single source solutions strategy which is both efficient and time saving", said Manuel Albert, Vice President of Onity Inc, who attended the show.

Apart from Onity's integrated solutions the Intelligent Room concept also proved popular with hotel developers at the show. This on-line, real time system allows hotel staff to know when a guest is in their room and when they have vacated it allowing for minimum guest disturbance, a key element of the five star service favoured with leading hotels.

In addition the MUR / DND Module (Make Up the Room / Do not Disturb) enables hotels to view the status of the requests from one room in particular, or all of them in the same screen, as well as keeping an audit trail of all the changes; all this, with guaranteed savings of 25-35% in the room energy consumption, plus a significant increment in guest comfort.
