Giant Ferris Wheel - Biggest in the Middle East to be featured in Dubai Shopping Festival 2003

Travel News Asia 8 January 2003

This Dubai Shopping Festival 2003 will see a lot of new attractions in the Fun Fair segment of the calendar of events. Expected to convert the city's main streets into an oasis of fun, colourful excitement and movement, the Fun Fair zones in Muraqqabat Street, Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Seef Street and Al Riqqa Street will provide a unique experience to the DSF visitor.

Says Ibrahim Abdul Rahim, Events and Projects Director, Dubai Shopping Festival, "This year our investment in the Fun Fair has been guided by two main criterions - to bring rides which are brand new and are unexposed to give an entirely new experience to our visitors. We have taken special care to select rides and games which have never been bought to the Middle East."

Al Seef Street sees the biggest sensation of them all - A giant Ferris wheel called the Hollywood stars wheel called so because famous personalities like Madonna and Michael Jackson have also experienced the thrill and joy of this wheel. The wheel will be placed at the Al Seef Street, with certain section of it literally being atop the Creek. Thrill seekers will have an unforgettable view to the City's attractions from this wheel.

A total number of 90 new roller coasters, carousels, ferris wheels, trampolines and twisters are being brought for the DSF visitor from Italy. These games and rides are suitable for all members of the family.

Al Riqqa Street will have two specific locations for the Fun Fair Zone - just opposite AL Ghurair City and in an open area in the Middle of the Street. The rides here have been imported from Holland, Germany and United Kingdom.

Al Muraqqabat Street also has selection of forty rides and games. The safety element of these rides conforms to the highest standards laid for the Fun Fair industry.
