SriLankan Airlines to resume flights to Kuwait

SriLankan Airlines has said it will resume flights to Kuwait from tomorrow, 26 March 2003.

"Flights were temporarily suspended with the outbreak of war in Iraq," says SriLankan's Head of Commercial G T Jeyaseelan. "The situation is now conducive to our resuming operations."

The flight timings of the Dubai and Kuwait flights have been revised and are as follows:

SriLankan Airlines flight UL 227 will leave Colombo at 1300 hours and arrive in Dubai at 1530 hours. The flight will leave Dubai at 1615 hours and arrive in Kuwait at 1700 hours.

The return flight UL228 will leave Kuwait at 1800 hours and arrive in Dubai at 2050 hours. The flight will leave Dubai at 2300 hours and arrive in Colombo at 0515 hours the next day.

These revised timings will prevail till Friday, March 28, when SriLankan has said it will announce new timings.

Jeyaseelan added that operations to Kuwait are subject to review based on any developments in the Middle East.

"The situation is being monitored on a 24-hour basis to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew," he said.

With that in mind passengers are encouraged to contact the airline prior to travelling to the airport.
