The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced today that
Mrs Grace Lee, currently Director - Corporate Support, has been promoted
to the position of Deputy Executive Director. The appointment is backdated
to 1 January 2003.
Mrs Lee joined the former Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA) in May
1986 and became Director - Finance & Administration in 1996. This position
was retitled Director - Corporate Support in August 2001, following a departmental restructuring. For a period in late 2000 and early 2001, prior to
the appointment of current Executive Director Clara Chong, Mrs Lee served
as the HKTA's Acting Executive Director.
Announcing the appointment, Ms Chong said that Mrs Lee's current role
covered a wide range of different responsibilities including financial management, business process management and performance monitoring,
systems management, legal issues, Board secretariat work and special projects such as the Tourism Orientation Programme. "In all these roles, she
has demonstrated both her strong leadership and her care in protecting the best interests of the organisation," she said.
In her new capacity as the Deputy Executive Director, Mrs Lee will continue
to manage the Corporate Support Division with the additional responsibility
of overseeing Industry Training and Human Resources Division. "This new
appointment does not reflect any change in the management structure of the
HKTB, it simply recognises the importance of the role that Grace plays, and
will continue to play, in the Board's day-to-day operations," Ms Chong explained.
"I am delighted to be able to announce this well-deserved promotion." |
