InterContinental Hotels Group Ends Contract with Keio Plaza InterContinental Tokyo

The InterContinental Hotels Group today announced the termination of its management contract with Keio Plaza Hotel Co Limited which owns Keio Plaza InterContinental Tokyo. The termination will take effect on September 30, 2003.

Said InterContinental Hotels Group's Mr Edmond Ip, Chief Operating Officer for North Asia, "Given the new InterContinental Hotels & Resorts' brand directions and standards, Keio Plaza InterContinental Tokyo will no longer be part of our portfolio of hotels in Japan. Despite this, we are still very committed to Japan and will continue to maintain our presence in Tokyo with InterContinental Tokyo Bay, Crowne Plaza Metropolitan Tokyo and Holiday Inn Tokyo Commercial Centre.''

InterContinental Hotels Group has been partnering Keio Plaza Hotel Co Limited for more than 20 years.
