JAL Cargo time sensitive J Speed products upgraded

Travel News Asia 1 July 2003

Japan Airlines' time-sensitive "J Speed" express cargo service, first introduced in 2000, is being upgraded from mid July.

J Speed service in general provides express shipment, onboard guarantees, late acceptance, speedy delivery at destination, internet booking and e-mail tracking services. Other J Products include specialized services for general freight, art items, fresh produce and shipments requiring temperature control.

New J Speed enhancements

From July 14, J Speed shipments will be capable of being transported on the WOW cargo alliance network, increasing their distribution from the current 37 cities in 20 countries to 523 cities in 103 countries, greatly enhancing the global reach of these special cargo services. The WOW alliance includes four major cargo airlines: JALCargo, Lufthansa Cargo, Singapore Airlines Cargo and Scandinavian Air Services Cargo.

Another new plus is the 'Time Definitive Service' which gives customers, at the time of reservation, a specific and guaranteed delivery time at the airport of arrival. (If the performance misses the specified time, refunds may be given. There will be exceptions to this condition, at airports where delivery facilities and other circumstances may be restricted. Such exceptions will be advised at the time of reservation).

The new J Speeds' current reservation limit of 90 minutes before flight departure will also be changed and last minute reservations will be accepted.

J Speed shipments up to 100 kilograms will now always be accepted, previously this such shipments were subject to space available, and the current J Speed condition of a limit of 300 kilograms per shipment will be lifted to no limit.
