Hilton Hanoi Opera is set to woo Asia’s golf fanatics with a package that
pampers the spirit and provides access to Hanoi’s only 18-hole golf course.
At US$400 for one person and US$670 for two persons, the three day
land-only package includes airport transfers, two nights accommodation in
the luxurious Hilton Hanoi Opera including a welcome beverage and daily breakfast, transfers to Kings Island Golf Course, all green and caddy fees, a
relaxing one hour oil massage to soothe the aches and pains, a cyclo city tour
and entrance to a Vietnamese water puppet show.
General Manager Hilton Hanoi Opera, Jerome Auvity, said the development of
the package resulted from a conversation with a Hong Kong traveller who lamented the absence of accessible golf in a nearby destination like Hanoi.
“Hanoi is an excellent short-break escape for residents of Hong Kong who are
big on golf yet short on time. At just on two hours flight away, it’s got the
excitment of an exotic city, excellent shopping including Vietnam’s famous
lacquer ware, and authentic cultural experiences. And now it’s got golf –
another reason for the upmarket traveller to visit.”
Kings’ Island Golf Course is the only course in Hanoi and is located 45 km
west of the city. Set amongst 885 acres of rolling Vietnamese countryside, the
course allows the “traditional golfer” to walk through a stunning tropical
landscape assisted by experienced female caddies who use hand carts to transport golfing gear.
Auvity believes the package will appeal to a niche group of highly
mobile golfers who have “done” the courses of Thailand and Malaysia and are now
looking for a new destination with a new buzz.
“There is an emerging number business travellers who want to combine golf
with a spot of pampering and shopping. The “Golfing With Hilton” package
takes away the hassle of making plans in a foreign country and lines up the
most popular experiences alongside golf. Basically, anyone can fly in and
have fun without all the planning.”
