British Airways launches its biggest giveaway ever in Hong Kong

Travel News Asia 16 June 2003

British Airways today revealed the latest in its series of high profile initiatives launched as part of the current ‘It’s time…’ campaign. From Monday June 23rd until Friday June 27th, British Airways will give away literally hundreds of air tickets in a move designed to support the drive by both the Hong Kong and Asian travel industry to restore public confidence.

Set to cause a significant stir, this amazing giveaway follows both the airline’s recent launch of some of the hottest special ticket offers available in Hong Kong and its sponsorship of the Circus Capital Stanley Dragon Boat Championships 2003.

Leading up to the giveaway, passengers travelling on the MTR this week will see a series of advertisements, each one building on the last and culminating with the announcement of how people can win a pair of British Airways return tickets to London.

“It’s wonderful to be in a position to give a much needed boost to the morale of Hong Kong people right now,” said British Airways Marketing Manager Greater China and East Asia, Debra Armstrong. “We are all very excited  about the launch of this latest promotion and have no doubt that each of our winners will feel the same,” she added.

Further cause for celebration during the weeklong giveaway is the resumption of British Airways’ second daily flight from Hong Kong to London. The airline will reintroduce its ‘double daily’ flights starting from June 25th.
