Positive Feedback for Revamped Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2019

The revamped business format of the 2019 Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) in Pattaya last month proved to be a resounding success, as indicated by the post-event survey responses from buyers, sellers and other participants.

Held between 5 6 June, 2019, at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club, the 18th TTM+ was highlighted by the participation of new buyers and media from new source markets, new exhibitors from Thailands new emerging destinations, a line-up of all-Thai speakers at the knowledge-sharing platform, new tours linking the Eastern Corridor of Thailand to neighbouring Cambodia, a product showcase for community-based enterprises, and total dedication to environmental preservation.

Under the theme of New Shades of Emerging Destinations, the event was held for the second consecutive year in Pattaya, around two hours from Bangkok.

Based on the online survey responses from 72% of the buyers and 38% of the sellers, the event is expected to generate 2.77 billion Baht worth of economic and business value. A total of 59% of the buyers and sellers said they entered into immediate business contracts, a strong indication that the trade show was attended by decision-makers on both sides.

Asked specifically about the potential of the Emerging Destination Show Case, 85.06% of the buyers felt that the products and services offered had the potential for inclusion in future tour programmes.

The post-tour programme was designed to cement the land links between Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion countries. One of the tours was a five-day, four-night itinerary covering Pattaya Rayong Chanthaburi Battambang Siem Reap.

The dates for the Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2020 have not yet been confirmed.

HD Videos from Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2019

HD video of the Tourism Authority of Thailand giving a press conference on the first day of Thailand Travel Mart 2019 (TTM+) in Pattaya. Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, TAT's Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, used the media briefing to outline their plans for 2019 and beyond, and give some insight into which of Thailand's less well known destinations they will be promoting and how. This video includes the Q&A at the end.

The 500 Rai Floating Resort on Lake Cheow Lan, Khao Sok National Park, Surat Thani, Thailand. Thais have long known about the beauty of Khao Sok National Park in Thailand's southern Surat Thani province, but the destination is still not very well known amongst travellers from abroad. That's about to change. Atirat Danphattharaworawat, Managing Director of 500 Rai, tells us all about his two resorts.

The luxurious aava Resort & Spa in Khanom, Thailand, is no stranger to the annual Thailand Travel Mart (TTM+) and has attended the last nine, including the most recent edition in Jomtien, Pattaya last week. In this exclusive interview, filmed on the first day of TTM+ 2019, Kati Hakkinen explains where Khanom is in Thailand, what its attraction is and what is the best way to travel there.

Khanom may not be a name you are familiar with yet, but it is certainly somewhere that you should consider the next time you are looking for a beach holiday in Thailand that will get you away from the throngs of tourists that many of the other destinations receive. Located approximately 90 minutes from either Surat Thani or Nakhon Si Thammarat airports, Khanom is an emerging destination that was, considering its size, well represented at last week's Thailand Travel Mart (TTM+) 2019 in Pattaya. Steven Howard of TravelNewsAsia.com sat down with Khun Sillapat Watcharapong, Director of Marketing at the Racha Kiri Resort in Khanom, to ask him about his resort and Khanom as a destination.

Pai, part of Mae Hong Song province in northern Thailand, was exhibiting at TTM+ and Steven Howard of TravelNewsAsia.com sat down with Ms. Phatchareeporn Ruecha of the Pai Tourism Business Association to learn more about Pai as a tourist destination. In this exclusive interview, Ms. Phatchareeporn tells us more about Pai, how to get there, what the average length of stay is, where visitors are coming from and what targets Pai has for 2019.

The successful Thailand Travel Mart (TTM+) 2019, held in Jomtien, Pattaya last week, not only had the crucial buyers meet sellers component, but also different workshops with expert speakers sharing their knowledge with media and sellers alike. One such expert, Khun Arrut Navaraj, Managing Director of Suan Sampran, gave an interesting talk to delegates about Organic Farming and Sustainable Tourism.
