The Banyan Tree Bangkok has set the date for one
of the most highly anticipated and unique charity events on the
city’s competitive running event calendar.
Now in its 19th year, the Vertical
Marathon is a 61-floor race to the top of the Banyan Tree Bangkok,
a 5-star hotel located on Sathorn Road.
The annual event sees hundreds of runners of
all ages and experience levels gathering at the break of dawn to
dash up over 1,000 steps to the rooftop finishing line.
All proceeds from the event—which is set to take
place on Sunday, 25 February 2018 will go to the Thai Red Cross
and Red Crescent HIV Formula Feeding Fund under the patronage of Her Royal
Highness, Princess Soamsawali.
The fund provides essential infant
formula for babies of HIV- afflicted mothers.
For a registration fee of 400 Baht, all
participants will receive an official event T-shirt, while those who
make it all the way to the top will also get a medallion
for their trophy case.
Interested participants can register
online and
at the front desk in the lobby of Banyan Tree Bangkok, now through
19 February 2018.
