Sharon Seong Appointed GM of Oakwood Studios Singapore

Sharon Seong has been appointed as General Manager of the Oakwood Studios Singapore.

The opening of Oakwood Studios Singapore in November 2016 will mark a milestone for Oakwood Asia Pacific as the property will be both the launch of the Oakwood Studios brand as well as the first Oakwood-branded property in the country since the opening of its regional headquarters in Singapore in 1997.

Seong, who worked most recently as General Manager of The Club Hotel on Ann Siang Road, will report to Craig Bond, Vice President of Operations for South Asia and Southeast Asia, Oakwood Asia Pacific.

“The introduction of the Oakwood Studios brand marks a significant extension of the brand portfolio for Oakwood and we couldn’t be more pleased to have someone with Sharon’s skills and expertise opening our first Oakwood Studios property, and in such a cosmopolitan city like Singapore,” said Bond. “Her background in lifestyle marketing as well as her experience with serviced apartments and hotels gives her the unique skill sets to manage this property. We are very excited about her putting this property on the map.”

Some of Seong’s previous roles include Country Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing for Thailand for the Ascott Group, where she oversaw the business strategy of nine properties within the region, and the Cluster Director of Sales of Ibis Hotels Singapore. She was also actively involved in the re-branding and re-positioning of Pan Pacific Orchard.

A Singapore national, Sharon Seong holds a master’s degree in International Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University and a diploma in mass communication from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside and Griffith University.
