Phuket Chosen for First Wyndham Grand Hotel in South East Asia

South East Asia’s inaugural Wyndham Grand hotel will debut in Phuket later this year, thanks to a management agreement signed between Parisorn and Wyndham.

The Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay is scheduled to open in November 2016.

Club Wyndham Asia, part of the Wyndham Vacation Ownership business, has also signed an agreement which once complete, will give Club Wyndham Asia members access to apartments at the resort.

Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director of Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim, said, “Wyndham Grand hotels are located in some of the world’s most sought after destinations, including Shanghai, Istanbul, Chicago and now Phuket. The brand’s premium offerings and distinctive experiences create a perfect platform to deliver our unique mixed-use model to travellers looking for an approachable take on luxurious travel in Thailand.”

The 214-room Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay is located on a hill which boasts sweeping views of the Andaman Sea. The resort is close to Phuket’s vibrant entertainment precinct yet just far enough to enjoy only the sounds of peaceful waves rolling into shore.

The 48 sqm standard rooms will offer guests the luxury of space together with plush furnishings and a full suite of in-room amenities, while each of the resort’s 152 pool villas will feature a private outdoor sundeck and a six or nine-metre infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

The Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay will feature two restaurants, meeting space and facilities, two outdoor swimming pools overlooking the sea, a spa offering traditional Thai therapies, a gymnasium, and a kids club.

"We are extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish with our latest project, Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay. Not only does the property boast the largest number of pool villas in the Kalim-Patong area, the views are stunning and the overall property is spectacular,” said Khun Sitikorn Soontornnont, Managing Director of Parisorn Company Ltd.

Phuket received 28.36 million arrivals in 2015, and tourism growth is anticipated with new infrastructure projects underway including an airport expansion.
