Thomas Salg Appointed GM of Marco Polo's Three Hong Kong Hotels

Mr. Thomas Salg has been appointed as General Manager of Marco Polo's three Hong Kong properties: Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, Prince Hotel and Gateway Hotel.

A seasoned hotelier, Thomas has been in the hotel industry for more than 20 years, spanning 8 countries and 3 different continents within that time. His most recent position was General Manager of Marco Polo Shenzhen.

Beginning his career in Food & Beverage, Thomas quickly moved up the ranks to Executive Assistant Manager at the Renaissance in Seoul, Korea in 2002, followed by Resident Manager of the Marriott Hotel in Singapore three years later. He achieved his first General Manager role in 2007 at the Renaissance Melaka Hotel in Malaysia before setting his sight on China three years later. Thomas spent several years at the Renaissance Tianjin TEDA Convention Centre Hotel before moving south to head Marco Polo Shenzhen in 2013.

“We are excited to have Thomas lead our three Marco Polo hotels in Hong Kong in the same positive direction that he led Marco Polo Shenzhen,” said Jennifer Cronin, President of Marco Polo Hotels. “His ability to address a challenge and overcome it with success is a testament to his passion for exceptional hospitality and his desire to constantly improve. In identifying these strengths, we can promote more readily from within and encourage our leaders to positively grow their careers with Marco Polo Hotels.”
