Dusit Thani Maldives Launches Freediving Promotion

Buoyed by the successful launch of Maldives’ first and only official Freediving Centre at the Dusit Thani Maldives earlier this year, the resort has further strengthened its brand association with Apnea Total, the  fanmous Freediving Education System.

Apnea Total’s co-founders Eusebio and Christina Saenz de Santamaria of “One Ocean One Breath” fame recently staged an underwater photo shoot of the 360-degree living house reef surrounding the resort.

Both Eusebio and Christina are not only accomplished professional freedivers, but also adventure freediving photographers and filmmakers.

In addition to the shoot, they conducted training sessions at the resort’s dive and water sports centre attended by beginner and advanced level freedivers.

All freediving Instructors working at the Dusit Thani Maldives hold freediving certifications from Apnea Total.

“The recent visit of the co-founders of Apnea Total has given an incredible thrust to the efforts of Dusit Thani Maldives towards promoting itself as a unique diving destination in the region,” said Joachim Schuette, Resort General Manager. “We look forward to further fostering this relationship and creating significant awareness about both freediving and conservation of our precious location in the Maldives’ only UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.”

The resort has launched a package which includes a two-day freediving course certified by Apnea Total, a 60-minute couple’s spa treatment, group yoga sessions and discounted flight transfers from Male to the resort, starting from US$ 900. The promotion is valid until 31 December 2015. Terms and conditions apply.
