IHG Signs Two Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

InterContinental Hotels Group has signed management agreements with the Winbond Group to develop two new Holiday Inn Express hotels in the capital city of Malaysia: the Holiday Inn Express Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kuala Lumpur Ampang.

Set to open in 2016, the 383-room Holiday Inn Express Kuala Lumpur City Centre will be built on the site of the existing Menara ING office tower in the city's central business district. It will be part of a mixed use development which will include offices, restaurants and cafes and is in close proximity to popular local destinations such as Pavilion Mall, Suria KLCC and Berjaya Times Square. Expected to be the first Holiday Inn Express in Malaysia when it opens next year, the hotel will be the fourth for the brand in IHG's development pipeline in the country.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kuala Lumpur Ampang will feature 240 rooms and 60 suites, catering to both short and long-term stays. Slated for completion in 2018, the hotel will be situated off Jalan Tun Razak, the lively financial district of Kuala Lumpur, and close to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. It will also be a short walk from the Ampang Park LRT station and a shopping mall featuring a range of lifestyle offerings including restaurants, bars and shops.

Both hotels will offer guests free Wi-Fi in guest rooms and throughout the hotel, Express Start Breakfast or a Grab & Go option, high quality bedding and a choice of firm or soft pillows, self-service business centre and meeting rooms, a laundry room and a 24-hour fitness centre.

Leanne Harwood, Vice President, Operations, South East Asia, IHG said, With the upcoming Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail expected to be completed by 2020, and the development of the Tun Razak Exchange financial district, it is an exciting time for the city. Together with our partner Winbond Group, we are confident these hotels will be a great choice for the growing group of value-conscious travellers visiting Kuala Lumpur for both business and leisure.

There are currently 13 Holiday Inn Express hotels open in South East Asia across Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia, with a further 20 hotels in the development pipeline due to open in the next three to five years, including four in Malaysia.
