InterVistas Appoints SVP Air Service and Business Development

InterVistas has appointed Michael Crockatt as Senior Vice President Air Service and Business Development.

He will officially join InterVistas on 7 April 2015 and will split his time between Ottawa and Vancouver.

In addition to leading consulting projects for InterVistas diverse client base, Michael will coordinate the companys business development activities in the Canadian market.

I am excited to have Michael, who is such a talented individual with extensive airport, commercial and tourism experience, join the InterVistas Team, said Deborah Meehan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the InterVistas Consulting Group.

Michael has been recognized both nationally and internationally for his many accomplishments in the airport and tourism industries. In 2013, Michael was named one of Airport Business Magazines Top 40 under 40. In 2012, he was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, recognizing his contributions to Canada. At the 2011 Ottawa Tourism Awards, Michael was named Tourism Volunteer of the Year, and in 2010, he was a recipient of the Ottawa Business Journal Forty-Under-40 Awards.

Prior to joining InterVistas, Michael was Vice President, Business Development and Marketing for the Ottawa International Airport Authority for over 8 years. Michaels responsibilities for Ottawa Airport included strategic planning, air services marketing to passenger and cargo airlines, retail and commercial development, customer service, airport planning, government relations, parking, ground transportation, and passenger facilitation.

Before moving to Ottawa, Michael was the Director of Marketing for cargo and passenger services with the Winnipeg Airports Authority.

Michael and his teams in Winnipeg and Ottawa attracted dozens of new passenger and cargo flights to their respective communities, and helped to grow non-aeronautical revenue through new retail and dining concepts, and by strengthening the airport parking business. Michael also spearheaded innovative passenger experience programs, targeting improved airport service quality results in critical areas important to airport users. He also led multiple boards and management teams through successful strategic planning processes.

For over 8 years, I have had the good fortune to work with an incredible team of professionals with the Ottawa International Airport Authority, and together we have had some tremendous accomplishments. Today, I am excited to be joining Deborah Meehan and the team at InterVistas, and I look forward to a new set of challenges in helping to deliver results and solutions in aviation, transportation, and tourism, said Michael Crockatt.

Michael is very active within the tourism and transportation industries and other business groups. He is the immediate past-Chair of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) Board of Directors. He is also the immediate past-Chair of the Board of Directors with Ottawa Tourism, and is the Chair of the organizations Tourism Development Council. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors with the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.
