        	  Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel in Taipei 
			  recently completed the first phase of a NT$ 1.5 billion 
			  (approximately US$ 50 million) upgrade of its 420 guestrooms, 
			  lobby and driveway, as well as two food and beverage outlets. 
			  The initial stage of the project included the 
			  complete refurbishment of 240 rooms and suites and the launch of a 
			  new room type. 
			  “Providing authentic services and up to date 
			  facilities is the hotel’s long-term commitment to our guests. Over 
			  the past years, we have completed a series of upgrading projects, 
			  including all restaurants, bars and lounge, ballrooms and most 
			  function rooms. The rooms and ground floor upgrades are part of 
			  our overall plan to offer guests the ultimate luxurious and 
			  comfortable home away from home,” said the hotel’s general 
			  manager, Marcel N.A. Holman. “It is with much pleasure, that we 
			  proudly present the first phase of newly renovated rooms and 
			  suites featuring the hotel’s famous Sung Dynasty theme and 
			  timeless elegance, as well as a contemporary residential 
			  atmosphere with modern technology.” 
			  The 240 guestrooms and 
			  corridors from floors 9 to 23 saw their first major refurbishment 
			  with clean, modernized designs that decorated and furnished the 
			  space with soft-toned, harmonious colors. Every room features 
			  city views of Taipei or the surrounding mountains and 
			  the ceiling height of over three meters creates additional 
			  spaciousness. 
			  All rooms and suites have been 
			  equipped with the latest technology and facilities, such as 
			  complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, flat screen televisions with an 
			  HDMI device for connecting with personal laptops and many more. 
			  The upgraded room types 
			  include the Superior Room, Deluxe Room, Executive Room, Plaza 
			  Suite and a new category, Premier Room. 
			  Deluxe Rooms are sophisticatedly designed 
			  and have a size of 40 square meters. The spacious room has an 
			  adjustable 40-inch LCD flat screen television. In the marble 
			  bathroom, guests can find a 17-inch LCD flat screen, a bathtub and 
			  a separate glass-enclosed shower. Brightly lit with 
			  natural daylight, the Executive Rooms feature a spacious sitting 
			  area with a coach and coffee table, as well as one set of 
			  window-side rotatable sofa chairs that allows guests to enjoy the 
			  in-room private views. The doors open to a foyer that provides 
			  additional privacy. The room size is 57 square meters. 
			  The 
			  new room type, the Premier Room, features a walk-through large 
			  closet that connects the room and bathroom, which would perfectly 
			  suit long-staying guests or family travelers. With three windows 
			  in the room itself and one large window in the bathroom, it offers 
			  a panoramic view of the city with Taipei 101 or the surrounding 
			  mountains. In addition to a sitting area and the set of 
			  window-side sofa chairs and coffee table, the room also comes with 
			  an ottoman sofa to provide guests added comfort. The room size is 
			  58 square meters. 
			  The Plaza Suite is a one bedroom suite containing a 
			  separate, bright living room and dining area, as well as a 
			  separate restroom. The living area is equipped with Bose surround 
			  sound stereo and a Blu-ray disc player, while the mini bar offers 
			  a personal Nespresso coffee machine. In the extensive marble 
			  bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle are two 
			  sinks and automatic motion-sensor washlet. Through exclusive 
			  Horizon Club privileges, Plaza Suite guests are offered 
			  personalized services and access to the private Horizon lounge on 
			  the 36th floor, where they can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast, 
			  complimentary coffee, tea and soft drinks throughout the day, as 
			  well as canapés and cocktails in the evenings. 
			  The remaining 180 guestrooms, including the 
			  Presidential Suite on the 37th floor, as well as the Horizon Club 
			  Lounge, the lobby and driveway, Lobby Court and The Cake Shop on 
			  the ground floor, are now undergoing refurbishment
