The organising committee for the Glasgow 2014
Commonwealth Games has confirmed that The Famous Grouse is the
			  Official Whisky of the Games.
Created in 1896 in Perthshire, The Famous
Grouse has been one of Scotland’s best selling whiskies for more
than 30 years. It is sold in around 100 markets worldwide.
The agreement sees parent firm and
international premium spirits company Edrington, which is
headquartered in Glasgow, join the Glasgow 2014 sponsor family.
Ian Curle, Edrington Chief Executive, said, “We’re excited about this perfect partnership. Edrington was
born in Glasgow and over 150 years it has grown and developed to
become an international business. That same spirit and dedication
to excellence is at the heart of Glasgow 2014 and we’re very proud
to raise a toast of friendship between The Famous Grouse and the
			  friendly games.”
The company offers tours, which are very highly
rated on TripAdvsior, of its Glenturret distillery in Perthshire from 09:30 and 18:00. The last tour starts at 16:30.
