Veteran hotelier, Erik Huyer, has joined the
Corp Amman Hotel as General Manager.
			  An Australian national and
Dutch by heritage, Erik began his career in hospitality with
Hilton in Australia as the chain’s first management trainee, later
spending 10 years working at its hotels in Sydney and Melbourne
before moving on to the Regent in Auckland, New Zealand.
After spending several years in Asia and
Australia working for both global chain of hotels and independent
properties, Erik moved to the Middle East when he was head hunted
by the Gulf Hotel Bahrain and then InterContinental in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
For the past seven years, he has been General
Manager of the prestigious Hotel Al Khozama in Riyadh, a Rosewood
Hotel, responsible for operations at the hotel and executive
apartments as well as a sports centre, retail and office complex.
“Few hoteliers can boast such a
comprehensive pedigree that covers three major global markets –
the Middle East, Asia and Australasia – including strong
experience in the GCC,” said Laurent A. Voivenel, CEO, HMH –
Hospitality Management Holdings, the company which operates the
Corp Amman Hotel. “It is heartening to see
the economic progress in Jordan where International Monetary Fund
is forecasting first signs of growth after the Arab Spring. The
Corp Amman Hotel has reported a good first year since its launch.
And with its reins in Erik’s capable hands there is considerable
potential for consolidation and growth as Amman expands its
tourism infrastructure and reaches into new corporate, events and
			  leisure markets.”
