Avis Car Rental Philippines has been named 'Licensee of the Year' in the 2014 Avis Car Rental Licensee Awards for Asia Pacific.

Avis Philippines won the award thanks to its growth in annual financial performance when measured against the economic growth of the Philippines.

Avis Philippines' strong alignment with Avis Car Rental's global initiatives and its focus upon customer satisfaction also contributed to the achievement.

Avis Car Rental is operated in the Philippines by the independently-owned licensee G&S Transport Corporation which was established in April 1972 for the specific purpose of operating the Philippine license of Avis Rent A Car International.

Avis Philippines started operations with just six cars and one station. Today, it has a fleet of more than 450 vehicles and 19 stations throughout the country.

Over the past 42 years of operations, Avis Philippines has operated in several segments of the car rental industry, including the airport transfer service, the car transfer segment (i.e., point-to-point pick-up and drop-off), the car-hire service (less than 24 hours rental), the chauffeur-driven rental market, and the self-driven car rental segment.
