Mr. Dietmar Koegerl has been appointed as General Manager of Niyama resort in the Maldives.

Born and raised in Ingolstadt, Germany, a graduate of Cornell University and Insead University, Dietmar started his career path in hospitality in Food & Beverage with Le Mridien Hotels & Resorts, working in Thailand, Sri Lanka and in a number of island properties in the Maldives and the Seychelles.

He returned to the Maldives in 2009 in the role of General Manager at Anantara Kihavah Villas, where he spearheaded the successful opening and ongoing operation of one of Anantaras flagship resorts.

Nicholas Downing, Vice President of Per AQUUM, comments, Dietmars boundless energy, enthusiasm and understanding of guest experience and the destination perfectly complements Per AQUUMs core brand emphasis in creating bold, imaginative spaces and signature attention to detail. I am excited about Dietmars contribution to further enhance our guest experience with a hospitality brand that dares to be different.

Located in the South Western Atoll of Dhaalu, a 45-minute seaplane flight from Male, Niyama offers 86 beach and over water Studios and Pavilions.

After spending more than 30 years in the Asia Pacific region I can truly say that every aspect of the Maldives astounds me and that every traveller should experience the warmth and beauty at least once in their life. I am very proud to be part of such a visionary team that dares to be different at every turn here at Niyama, Dietmar said.
