Charles Cheng to Head Pan Pacifics New Beijing Office

Pan Pacific Hotels Group has opened a new Global Sales Office in Beijing, complementing its existing Global Sales Office in Shanghai.

Over the past year, Pan Pacific Hotels Group has been ramping up its developments in China, where it now owns and/or manages four Pan Pacific properties namely Pan Pacific Xiamen, Pan Pacific Suzhou, Pan Pacific Ningbo and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo. The group is on track to open its fifth the 319-room Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Tianjin later this year and also has two more pipeline projects in Chengdu and Zhuhai.

In conjunction with the opening of its Beijing Global Sales Office, Pan Pacific has appointed Charles Cheng as Director, Global Sales, Beijing to head the new Office.

Charles will be responsible for managing the groups key clients in Northern China and expanding the market through the generation of sales leads and bookings to drive revenue for the groups properties within and outside of China.

A seasoned industry professional with close to 20 years of sales experience in China at both the hotel and regional level, Charles was most recently Director, Global Sales, Northern China at Langham Hospitality Group. He has also served in management positions with international hotel chains including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

The opening of our new Global Sales Office in Beijing and Charless appointment mark the latest in the groups recent chain of developments in China, made in strategic response to the global importance and vast potential of the countrys domestic and outbound travel market, said Kevin Croley, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Pan Pacific Hotels Group. As a top Chinese city, Beijing is central to Chinas tourism developments and represents a key source market for the Groups properties within and outside of the country. Our new Beijing Global Sales Office, helmed by an experienced and capable Chinese sales veteran, will put the Group in a more advantageous position to expand our customer reach and strengthen our foothold in this critical growth market.
