With nearly three decades of hospitality experience, Deutl leads The St. Regis Chengdu pre-opening team in preparation for the grand opening in July 2014.

Prior to The St. Regis Chengdu, Mr. Deutl served as General Manager of The Westin Nanjing where he was the lead for the successful opening. Mr. Deutl has gained more than 7 years of China experience and served as General Manager of the Sheraton Hotel in Tianjin and Wuxi. Prior to his transfer to China, he was General Manger of the Sheraton Metechi Palace in Georgia. Mr. Deutl has gained significant knowledge in hospitality through the different roles he has undertaken within the Rooms Division. He first joined Starwood at Sheraton Innsbruck, Austria in 1988.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to debut the first St. Regis in Southwest China, said Mr. Deutl. We are honored to open The St. Regis Chengdu as legacy of our legendary founder, Mr. J.J. Astor IV here in Chengdu; I trust he would be proud to see this hotel in this wonderful and energetic metropolis. Carrying forward his vision, we are preparing our team to deliver the highest level of personalized service with a goal of exceeding the expectations of our guests.
