ST Aerospace and SF Airlines Sign PTF Conversion Contract

ST Aerospace and SF Airlines have signed a contract for five 757-200SF passenger-to-freighter (PTF) conversions, with an option for three more aircraft.

The new 757-200SF freighters will have a 15-pallet cargo configuration. The first aircraft will be inducted in ST Aerospaces facilities at Seletar Aerospace Park in early January 2014 and is scheduled to be redelivered to SF Airlines by the end of the third quarter in 2014.

The 15-pallet PTF solution is part of a 757-200SF development programme that ST Aerospace has launched in early 2013, of which it will be applying for Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, European Aviation Safety Agency, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the PTF conversion.

This STC is based on Boeings production freighter as well as ST Aerospaces existing FAA-approved 14-pallet STC for 757-200 PTF conversions, which is also the only STC developed, based on Boeings licensed passenger and freighter data.

We are indeed honoured that SF Airlines have entrusted the conversion of their new fleet of freighters to us. We will be working closely with SF Airlines to forge our long term partnership together; we will also seek to ensure that the newly converted 757-200SF freighters add value to their operations and contribute to their continued success in the air cargo market, said Chang Cheow Teck, President, ST Aerospace.

ST Aerospace has been supporting SF Airlines since March 2011 when it first started providing computer-based training courses for its pilots. To date, around 20 cadets have undergone ST Aerospaces pilot training programme.
