Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has appointed Peter Ashworth as senior vice president, central and eastern Europe.

He was previously vice president, Traveler Services EMEA for CWT.

Ashworth, a Dutch citizen of South African descent, joined CWT in 1998 as a branch manager in the Netherlands. Since then, he has held various positions within CWTs Traveler Services organization, including Benelux director and operations development director EMEA.

Commenting on the appointment, Andrew Waller, president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Global Partners Network, said, Peters background, most recently in Traveler Services, means that he has a great understanding of what is important to our customers. As a proven leader of some of CWTs largest teams, with a strong track record of success, he was the natural choice to head up this important region for CWT.

The recruitment process for Ashworths successor as vice president, Traveler Services EMEA is currently ongoing.
