Eighteen new concessions outlets are located in
the newly-opened first phase of Terminal A of Dallas/Fort Worth
(DFW) International Airport. The new concessions in Terminal A are
being unveiled in conjunction with the rollout of DFW’s $2.3
billion Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program (TRIP).
“Our mission is to provide airport guests with a
world-class level of customer service, and to achieve that we’re
providing our passengers with more choices, healthier and upscale
options and highly requested amenities,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of
DFW International Airport. “Dining or shopping at DFW will become
an even better experience for customers as we open these new
locations, which include creative new ideas alongside some popular
favorites.”
Highlighting the new concessions are first ever
airport locations for Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar & Grill, Teavana, a
world- renowned retailer for tea and tea accessories, and
Geppetto’s Toys.
Overall, the redefined section of Terminal A
includes 50% more space allocated for concessions operations while
keeping roughly the same number of restaurant and retail outlets,
addressing projections for passenger counts in 2020 and beyond.
“You can feel and taste an unmistakable
freshness about DFW Airport with all of these new concepts now
available in Terminal A, and the quality of these outlets is
superb,” said Ken Buchanan, executive vice president of revenue
management for DFW. “I’m positive that passengers will be really
pleased with this first wave of the future for concessions at
DFW.”
All of the new concessions are located between

In surpassing 200 total
destinations, DFW joins a select group of airports worldwide with
that distinction, including Frankfurt, Amsterdam Schiphol, Paris
Charles De Gaulle, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, and
Munich.
“Even with this tremendous achievement of 200
destinations, our airport still has plenty of room to grow and add
more capacity,” said Jeff Fegan, DFW Airport’s CEO. “We are
optimistic that DFW can continue to attract more air service in
the coming months and years, particularly new international
service, as we build on our mission to connect the Dallas/Fort
Worth area to the world.”
DFW Airport has experienced an unprecedented
expansion of air service in the past three years, adding seven new
passenger airlines, three new cargo carriers, fourteen new
international destinations and ten new domestic destinations.
In
addition to new flights from its hub carriers American Airlines
and American Eagle, DFW has also welcomed new service from Virgin
America, Qantas, Emirates, JetBlue, Cayman Airways and Aeromexico
in that time period, and will see the start of new service from
WestJet later this year.
“The sustained success we’ve seen in adding new
routes and destinations is a testament to the hard work of our air
service development team in identifying opportunities and airlines
that make a good fit for DFW,” said Chris Poinsatte, DFW’s chief
financial officer. “In most cases, the DFW team spends years
building relationships with airline decision-makers and detailing
the tremendous opportunity that the Dallas/Fort Worth market
represents and the highly competitive cost structure our Airport
offers to airlines.”
