[HD video below] Kirimaya, a 64-room resort in Khao Yai,
Thailand, has launched a private organic wine label.
Two organic wines have been created
exclusively for Kirimaya at the Castello Colle Massari Winery in
Tuscany, by renowned winemaker Maurizio Castelli.
Rigoleto 2007: An intense ruby red wine with a
fruit nose; marked by a sweet spiciness with notes of blackfruit.
This is a very pleasant full bodied wine which is smooth and round
in taste and pairs beautifully with meat dishes and medium ripe cheeses.
Melacce 2010: A fruit white wine with a rich
straw yellow colour, this wine has an intense nose with clear
fruity traces of green apple and white peach, together with floral
notes of citrus fruits. It enters the mouth fresh and sweet, with
a pleasant acidity and a good length. This wine makes an excellent
pair with all fish preparations; is ideal with antipasti and makes
a perfect aperitif.
The ColleMassari Winery Group is
one of Italys largest and most awarded organic wineries. It has a total
farmland area of 390 hectares which is surrounded by 1200 hectares
of state forest.
The 115 hectare winery produces 5 red wines and 2
white wines as well as grappa and organic olive oil. Their state
of the art wine cellar is imbedded in 20-metre deep rocks, giving
it a naturally cool and humid environment which uses limited
energy.
In 2011 ColleMassari wines were awarded the
maximum three green glasses award by Gambero Rosso and their Rosso
Riserva label was selected by Swiss Air to be served
in their Business Class cabins as Discovery of the Year.
Guests and visitors to this unique resort,
just over 2 hours from Bangkok, can now enjoy these
organic Italian Wines especially made for Kirimaya Khao Yai, as
well as explore the local vineyards and enjoy wine tastings in the
surrounding area near the resorts.
