Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has a long history of hosting royals from around the world, but the luxury hotel brand has an especially long relationship with the British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.

This year, as the second longest serving British monarch gets ready to celebrate her 60-year reign, The Savoy, a Fairmont Managed Hotel in London is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of the grand Diamond Jubilee festivities.

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, which takes place 2-5 June 2012, promises to be a historic occasion for London, The Commonwealth, and the rest of the world. The Savoy is perfectly positioned for guests who want to enjoy festivities such as The Queen's carriage procession and the River Pageant, which takes place on Saturday, 2 June with 1,000 boats sailing up the Thames past the hotel.

The Diamond Jubilee package starts from 1,230 and includes 2-night's accommodation, breakfast and a special 4-course Jubilee dinner.

Throughout the 20th century, The Savoy has been a popular destination for members of the Royal Family, who frequently attended private dinners or balls. The young Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret frequently visited the hotel informally in the evenings for dinner and dancing. The Queen Mother also often visited the hotel, and the private side entrance to the building which she used is still known as the "Queen Mother's Entrance". Before becoming Queen, Princess Elizabeth was first seen with new husband Lt. Philip Mountbatten in public at a reception at The Savoy in 1948.

But Fairmont's ties to the Queen's family go back to before Elizabeth was even born. In the l920s the young Prince of Wales, (Queen Elizabeth's uncle, who would later become King Edward,), traveled across Canada and attended many balls in his honor at the luxury hotel company's Canadian hotels.

In Victoria, almost 50 years later, the obituaries of elderly ladies would appear under headlines such as, 'Mrs. Thornley-Hall Dies. Prince of Wales Singled Her Out.' In 1939, after King Edward's abdication, King George VI & Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mum, also toured Canada, stopping by The Fairmont Palliser, The Fairmont Banff Springs, The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and more.

The Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia has hosted Queen Elizabeth nearly every decade of her reign and has Royal China exclusively used for Royal Visits. The luxurious Outlook Cabin at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge hosted Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip in 2005, and her parents King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939. The Royal Suite at The Fairmont Royal York plays host to Queen Elizabeth and her family whenever they visit Toronto and Montreal's Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth boasts of hosting three generations of the royal family. Vancouver's Fairmont Waterfront has hosted princes William and Harry while their parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, visited Ottawa's Fairmont Chateau Laurier while on a Royal Tour in 1983. Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge, first caught Prince William's eye during a 2001 fashion show at Scotland's Fairmont St Andrews. Outside The Commonwealth, The Fairmont San Francisco's Penthouse Suite has hosted notable royals such as Prince Charles, while The Plaza in New York was once frequented by the former King Edward and Wallis Simpson - The Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

In Bermuda, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess also has longstanding royal connections, having hosted the future King Edward as an honored guest for a ball in the 1920s, and decades later, hosting his nephew Prince Charles for a formal event of his own. The hotel opened its doors on 1 January 1885 after Bermuda had gained international recognition two years earlier when Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, visited for a winter retreat. When the hotel opened, it was named ''The Princess'' in honor of her royal visit. Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise's namesake lake, and as a result the hotel, was also named in honor of Princess Louise, who was Vice Regal Consort of Canada when her husband was named Governor General in 1878.
