Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Monday, 12 March 2012

The 137 Pillars House in Chiang Mai has launched a travel trade promotion.

Those working in the travel industry can now enjoy a special travel trade rate of THB4,500 (US$150) per night, plus applicable government tax and service charge until 31 October 2012.

The promotion is subject to availability and terms and conditions apply.

The luxurious 30-suite boutique hotel is built around a colonial teak homestead built in the early 1800s. It is located in a leafy residential enclave a few minutes walk from the historical Wat Gate Temple, Ping River and boutique shopping area.

Four suite types named after the original settlers range from 70-135 square meters with the two Louis Leonowens Suites having 5.5 x 2.5 metre private pools.

Tiled verandas, cane shades, rattan furniture and free standing Victorian baths are reminders of days gone by, and blend with modern facilities including outdoor gardens showers, flat screen televisions and the all important Wi-Fi access.

A range of bespoke dining options include the Library Bar, Parlor, Wine Cellar, Dining Room, Kitchen and Private Dining, using organic ingredients from the hotels garden.

Recreation facilities include a spa, gymnasium and swimming pool.
